Say good riddance or good bye or wish a fond farewell to any and all HIV/AIDS patients; Seniors; The child of your 16 yo daughter; The chronically mentally ill; Grandmother with advanced dementia; Uncle Joe who’s begun having trouble with his knees; the high-school or collegiate athelete who mashes his spine in a traffic or other accident. Make a Wish clients.
Do I have your attention yet? No? Unless any of the above categories of patients are members in good standing of the Party (there is only one that matters, and you must be to the Left of Michael Moore of Jeannine Garaffalo to qualify, meaning 99+% of US residents won’t; to say nothing of all Veterans) or specified unions, they will be denied care as a ‘cost-saving’ measure through any number of subtle and not so subtle means under the House plan. A plan paid for by all residents of the US aside from the aforementioned groups. Have a chronic pre-existing condition? Above 55? Say good bye. Yes, you’ll be covered, but care and appointments will become extremely rare. Even if you do manage to get in to see your GP, it’ll be well nigh impossible to see a competent Specialist. Forget surgery, you’ll have to go overseas to get that immediate life-saving valve or hip replacement. Except they are all coming here to get those done.
Also forget about paying cash for any of this; you and the doc will be fined. And audited. And fined again.
You won’t find any of these bothersome details in the legislation itself, it’s over a 1000 pages, not counting pork-laden amendments/vote-buying schemes to the local Unions and ACORN-types, which are certain to be added, of BS and generalities (aside from certain well publicized tax provisions). It will be buried in the Rules and Regulations required to implement this monster by the various Commissioners and Directors as outlined in the legislation.
And that is exactly the way the Legislaturalists and their Staffs want it.
This way they can demand that we point to the specific line or page or section of the Bill when someone is shafted under it and they can honestly claim no knowledge. Even if they’ve bothered to read it; which I suspect most of those who will vote for this beast, all of whom have a D after their name, will not do. They will insist on maintenance of their political cover, having it both ways. IF it works, they can point to their vote in support; WHEN it fails, and the horror stories from their own districts get publicized, they will point to the unread provisions and say, quite honestly, they didn’t know.
To those Representatives let me say this: You responsibility is NOT to the Speaker or Party. It is to the Constitution and the citizens of your District. You know, the things you swore and Oath to God to uphold and defend. Your overriding is to represent the citizens of your District, not just your Biggest Donors and the Party. Committee assignments are transitory things, seniority in the House is fleeting; your responsibilities to your District, whom you represent, are lasting. You can amass all the power and prestige you like from Members of your Party, you can amass influence and money from your Big Donors. None of that will ultimately matter when the voters speak. Especially if their voices are not diluted by your owners in ACORN! (Association of Community Organizers for Reform. NOW!).
Just some thoughts…or perhaps a nightmare.
And to strain your credulity still further, the Enlightened One claims not to know what's in this Beast He's trying to cram down our throats. In spite of mounting public and Congressional opposition. After He knows what's best for us and what we need.
We certainly don't.
And the only way for the Gov't to take over the medical care system and reduce costs is to reduce services.
